Amiibo is a series of figures produced by Nintendo based on their properties and are the 3rd major entry in the toys-to-life market, following Activision's Skylanders and Disney's Disney Infinity. Instead of only working in a single game series, however, Amiibo work with a variety of games on both of Nintendo's platforms.

Sales tidbits Edit

There has been a great of good news in terms of sales of amiibo. The current ratio is 63% for North America, 11% for Japan, 23% for Europe and 3% for Australia

United States Edit

In a press release for the November NPD, Nintendo revealed that sales of amiibo were almost matching Super Smash Bros. for Wii U sales at around 700k.

With the December NPD press release, Nintendo revealed that amiibo sales in the US doubled the sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, putting the sales at roughly 2.6 million for the United States.

Europe Edit

Nintendo confirmed in May 2016 that over 1 million Animal Crossing amiibo card packs have been sold. Since there are 3 cards per pack, that means over 3 millions cards were sold.[1]

France Edit

Nintendo of France made comments that amiibos were very on track to meet the projection of 200k for France at the beginning of December. In January, the President of Nintendo of France confirmed that this was the case.[2]

By June 2015, 450k amiibo had been sold in France alone[3].

By October 2015, 800k amiibo had been sold in France including 70,000 Amiibo cards[4].

Media Create revealed that the Japanese launch week sales were around 100k with Link being the best seller.
