History Edit

The series was first known as Harvest Moon when published by Natsume in the United States. This was due to Victor Interactive's lack of resources to establish a western branch to localize the title. Victor Interactive was eventually acquired by Marvelous Entertainment in 2003 but, this relation still stood. Natsume even had obtained the rights to publish the spinoff

In 2014, Marvelous decided they wanted complete ownership of the franchise and wanted to publish it under their own western branches. Natsume however, refused to give up rights to the name and instead started its own titles and retained the rights to previous titles for rereleases. This led Marvelous a new name for the franchise in the West, now calling it Story of Seasons.
